Do the pistons move freely, have you bled the brakes if so was there a good amount of fluid coming out??

Have you adjusted the cables at the handbrake end correctly? With the surround removed check to see if the cables tighten when you pulll the lever. And also make sure the other end is right in the caliper braket.

If you've got rear discs that will lock the wheels then you have [mrkiplingvoice]exceedingly good brakes :)[/mrkiplingvoice]

Mine has also failed on handbrake. But I can't see anything wrong with them and it pulls up sharply in a straight line when applied.

Have they change the way they test brakes recently?

I didnt think it had to lock the brakes, just pass a certain reading on the brake rollers?

fond the problem, the handbrake levers on the calipers were starting to seize up, job sorted.

Before the handbrake wasn't holding the required amount on the brake tester

They will always find something wrong nowadays, even if its minimal.
