Larger Mi16 Throttle Body

Recommended Posts

Ive been thinking about fittign a larger throttle body to my mi16, as there are a couple of R19's in my local scrappy, with a big butterfly and a smaller one that open together. Does anyone know if the Throttle body is a restriction or wether it will make no difference...or could it actually make it worse?

The afm is a bigger restriction than the throttle body, so no point changing it unless you go for programmable ecu and ditch the afm.

ooo yeh, just realised the area of the hole in the AFM is smaller than the holes in the TB.

I've never fitted a larger TB but I took one off of my mates Mi16 that it had fitted when he bought it and put a standard one on. It didnt make it any slower.....
