moonas 0 1 Cars Posted June 21, 2006 I was browsing through pug parts catalog and noticed that pug605 mastercylinders had diameter of 22.2mm (here), so that looked like a good candidate for 307 brakes upgrade. Though they weren't mentioned in any topic before, so should that mean that they don't fit 205, or just that 605s are too rare in UK? There's plenty of them over here. pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted June 21, 2006 Never looked at one to check but they are fairly rare here in the UK imo. I think I've seen two in my local scrapyard all the time I've been going there. They are probably the same master cylinder as fitted to the 306 & 405's so should fit OK but that depends on the mounting flange being at the right angle for the 205 servo. Without seeing one to check though its all trial & error. Graham.
TEKNOPUG 3 Posted June 21, 2006 They'll surely be ABS also?
Grim.Badger 15 Posted June 21, 2006 Two out of three of the ones for sale on Autotrader are listed as having ABS, and given the list of electronics I'd expect the third to be ABS also. I've only ever seen two in scrapyards, both V6s and completely unscavanged.
TVH 0 Posted June 22, 2006 There's 3 types of 605 brakes available: 1. Bendix ABS, integral system without a servo, additional braking power is generated by the ABS hydraulic pump. Avoid Bendix ABS systems in any car, these are very fragile and very expensive to repair. No rebuild kits for the modulator or pump are available, only complete units. 2. Bosch ABS, non-integral system with normal servo assited braking, these are reliable and brake feel is better. The master cylinder should be just like the one on a 406 ABS. 3. No ABS, normal master cylinder with normal servo. M/C should fit a 205 just like the 406 one.
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted June 23, 2006 They'll surely be ABS also? Just like the 306 S16 with ABS, all it means is that splitters are needed like when fitting an ABS 306 GTi-6 mc. Graham.
