Billy_boy 0 Posted June 20, 2006 hey guys, im interested in gettin some 309 GTI Goodwood leather seats for my 205 GTi... will they fit the standard 205 frame? cheers
Ryan 99 Posted June 20, 2006 Not directly as the 309 has slightly wider seats. I have a set in mine and I needed to make some little brackets to make them fit on the 205 frames. Alternativly you can modify the 205 to accept the 309 frames.
Billy_boy 0 Posted June 20, 2006 ah i see. are they easy to fit? thank you for your advice Billy_boy
Ryan 99 Posted June 20, 2006 Dead easy. The rear seats go straight in. The front's need a little work. The edge of the seats nearest the handbrake bolts straight onto the 205 frames. The edge nearest the door is about 3/4 of an inch away from the holes. So I used some strips of metal with 2 holes drilled in them to make up the difference. I've got some pics somewhere. I'll post them up when I can find them...

wildejon 7 Posted June 20, 2006 I reckon I found a cool solution. Much the same as everyone elses but I drilled 6 holes in a long piece of Stainless (about 280 x 35 I think) that runs along the side of the seat from the front holes to the back. It does mean you have to drill 2 holes (hence the 6 holes) for the little tabs to stick through but its a really solid method. Only did it last week and I'm really happy with it, I'll grab some photos too if you would like?
Ryan 99 Posted June 20, 2006 If I were to do mine again that's exactly how I'd do it too.
