Spluttering Over 5k

need some more help with my daft mi16 please! ;):(

 

its now developed an interesting problem in that it wont rev over 5k B) runs fine up to before it gets to 5k and didnt have this problem a couple of weeks ago and i think its getting worse

 

it just splutters when it hits about 5k :D like its hit a soft cut limiter (its on emerald ecu and limit it set to 7600!)

 

the fuel pump was running at 4 bar but ive recently set it back down to 3bar with some bigger injectors, althou it revved ok when i first did that - thinking maybe its just had enough now?

 

any other ideas as to what it could be please before i swap the pump tomorrow? :)

 

mi16 on bodies with emerald no knock sensor new tps and cas recently

Make sure you have the new CAS wires the right way round, if you don't the engine will run but they typically only get to 5000/5500rpm before spluttering as you say.

Replace the fuel filter regularly too. If its history is unknown, pop a new one on.

this turned out to be corroded injector wire on mine! replaced fuel filter anyways thou ;) v random car! :(:P

Glad you got it sorted... I had a similar problem when we were mapping the MoTeC and it turned out to be a poor Crank Position Sensor wire, a new sheilded one sorted my issue out (wouldn't rev above 5k at all)
