Electric Windows

i've had problems with the electric windows in my car and have bought some motors and mechs to try.

can anyone help with a couple of quick questions though?

1. how do you get the mech wheels out of the two upper runners?

2. probably more complicated this one - the passenger window is stuck in the up position (which is good!) - but won't come down at all. the motor does actually work as i can hear it wanting to push the window up - but it doesn't make any noise in the downward direction. it's not switch related either (i've tried the other switches in substitution). is it worth my while changing the mech/motor, or is this a different (wiring - ?) problem?

thanks all

1. you need to pull the inner door skin out until the five bolts that hold the runner and the motor in place can be removed from the holes then lower the whole lot down and tilt it to get the runners out, bit of a pig but lots of jiggling should get it.

2.the leccy window switches can be a pig , as it seems they need to be specific to work properly. try a battery fly lead to the motor plug , and either way it should come down (unless it is the motor that is faulty) if it does come down then the switches are at fault or the wiring to it.

i had alot of trouble with mine as it wasnt leccy windows as standard ( put my own in)and found that just swapping the switches did nothing either someone may well correct me on this but i think they are specific to each side?

can be very confusing as i still never got the passenger side working from the drivers switch?!?!?

but i have ripped it all out now any way to save weight

the switches are all the same but the pass side needs both switches to be present and working as its wired through both.
