miamistu 1 Posted June 18, 2006 Hello, Can anyone here identify what this connector is for? It has two wires coming out: green (wire 57) and brown - the connector is labelled '21'. Cheers
M@tt 77 Posted June 18, 2006 well wire 57 is the +12v from the battery to the radiator cooling fan switch located in the rad however it should have a 3 plug connector as the switch should have a high and a low speed out put can you see what the other wire number is? it might be for the cooling ran resistor? but the wire numbers for that should be 58 & 58b
miamistu 1 Posted June 18, 2006 I can't see what the other wire number is, but my cooling fan resistor is already wired up
pug_ham 245 3 Cars Posted June 18, 2006 I don't l know what its for but I'm sure I have that same connector un-used on my car. Maybe its for the compressor for the air horn on a 1.9 & left spare on a 1.6 (which mine started out as). Graham.

inferno 1 Posted June 18, 2006 that connector is used on the twin fan setup on the 205 td... when i fitted the fans and 205 td relays ect to my zx they wouldnt work without that being plugged into the fan relay loom.
Ren 0 Posted June 18, 2006 Yeh i've got one of those behind my headlight and it's not plugged into anything either
feb 47 Posted June 18, 2006 same here, was wondering about this the other day when i removed the K&N filter to clean it, it sits behind the headlamp and is not connected to anything.
miamistu 1 Posted June 18, 2006 Nice one chaps, i'll just cable-tie it out of the way then. Strange that they bothered wiring it in in the first place though
M3Evo 0 Posted June 18, 2006 Guess they have a generic loom for all cars and just install it regardless of spec. Remember converting that old Volvo from carb to injection and finding all the wires were already there on the loom waiting to be used.
Guest smokinslim Posted June 19, 2006 Guess they have a generic loom for all cars and just install it regardless of spec. I'll second that; when i fitted an xs dash loom, to save a lot of hassle fitting gti instruments, it plugged straight into the fuse box and worked without a hitch (for once!).
