feb 47 Posted June 16, 2006 I have removed the lower steering surround and the 2 screws that hold the indicator/lights stalk to the steering column but the stalk won't go through the gap between the top plastic steering surround and steering column. How do you remove the top steering surround/instrument cluster or is there an easier way to replace the indicator stalk? Thanks, Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Jonmurgie 2 Posted June 16, 2006 You will have to remove the top cowling as well, which is all one piece from the heater controls up and over the clocks... To do this pull off the heater controls and you will see a couple of screws under there, remove them. Then pull out the coin tray and there are a couplf oc screws there, remove those. I think there are a couple of screws along the leading edge of the trim underneath, so check for those... you should then be able to pull the whole trim forward and off, there is a clip on the right hand side of the clocks so be away of that. Then remove four nuts that secure column and lower it enough to remove stalk. Not really easier but I find that the top cowlings always rattle after removal!
