Richie-Van-GTi 73 2 Cars Posted June 16, 2006 Is the little symbol that looks like a pan handle on loads of wavey lines something to do with coolant? Yesterday one of my hoses burst and subsequently the HG went, todayIve done the HG and car is running nice and sweet again but the light I decsribed is on. It wasnt on when the hose burst, its only came on today, Ive checked and all the wires are correct.
Garry 1 Posted June 16, 2006 I think you'll find that is the coolant level warning light. Try topping it up and see if it goes out.

Richie-Van-GTi 73 2 Cars Posted June 17, 2006 system is fully bled, and level is fine. Could it be a dodgy wire or sender?
Pete C 0 Posted June 17, 2006 system is fully bled, and level is fine. Could it be a dodgy wire or sender? Yes, they're utter s*ite. When the tank is emptied you'll normally find it'll come on after it's been empty for a while and stay on for a while after it's full. Drive around for a bit and you'll probably find it goes out
Guest RickGTIBaker Posted June 17, 2006 Mine is coolant-full and under hard acceleration and corning - it comes on lol.
futura 3 Posted June 17, 2006 Sensor is made of a tube with a bit inside that slides vertically and floats in coolant liquid. It's probably stuck in low position
Rob_the_Sparky 10 Posted June 17, 2006 They rarely work so quite likely it is stuck...
