Recommended Posts

As above please.

I found ratio's for the non turbo diesel and was wondering if the turbo was different.

Can't find any specific info on this.

thanks

If they are the same as the normally aspirated diesel it's Mi16 ratios with a different final drive.

Anthony

From memory, the TD's are geared for about 25mph/1000rpm in 5th (and about 10mph/1000 in 2nd, 15mph/1000 in 3rd, and 20mph/1000rpm in 4th), give or take a bit.

The TD FD is shorter than the NA FD, as I have one fitted in my 'box.

I'll try to dig out the exact ratios. Or run a search for ratio, diesel etc in my user profile.

i've found it http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?s...&hl=diesel&st=0

and http://petrahilgert.it4us.nl/gearboxpeugeot.xls

Teknopug, i think you'll find that the td has a 3.47 as seen in the xls thing and as you quoted it in your post!!!

The TD has a different box to the n/a diesel. I know as I've fitted one from an n/a diesel into my STDT & its got a slightly lower mph/rpm.

The originaly gearbox was exactly 25mph / 1000rpm, this one is about 22mph.

I've seen an XLS file with the gearing broken down & it showed the TD has a different final drive. (3.9 or something iirc).

Graham.

so if the original was 25mph (td) and the d one is 22 mph, that means the td must have a longer box hence a lower fd of 3.47 and the diesel having a fd of 3.58 possibily??? the xls file above shows the fd ratios.

who cares anyway, at the end of the day the diesel/turbo D box is longer than petrols!!!! there isn't a lot in it between diesel boxes.

I've got a spreadsheet at home with almost every permutation of BE3 gears/FD's and their speeds at 1k intervals. I'll post it up over the weekend if I get my Broadband sorted.

Seems quite a good box then if fitted with the 1.9L FD

See Custom below, Using TEKNOPUG's figures.

('box/FD) 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th

1.6/1.6 5.0 8.8 12.2 15.5 19.1

1.6/1.9 5.5 9.7 13.4 17.1 21.0

1.6/mi16 4.6 8.1 11.2 14.2 17.5

1.9/1.6 5.7 9.0 12.2 15.5 19.1

1.9/1.9 6.3 9.9 13.4 17.1 21.0

1.9/mi16 5.2 8.2 11.2 14.2 17.5

mi16/1.6 5.7 9.0 13.0 17.1 21.9

mi16/1.9 6.3 9.9 14.3 18.8 24.1

mi16/mi16 5.2 8.2 11.9 15.7 20.0

custom 5.5 9.7 13.4 18.8 24.1

using one of the gearbox calc programs

Cheers

Depends what engine it's fitted too. I wanted a longer 'box for my turbo as it's a low-revving, high-torque engine.

That would be great.

I got almost the same figures for the D & TD yet both Anthony and Graham say this is not so :)

Starting to get confused with this.

Cheers

The ratio is changed on a TD box to give a different rpm / mph ratio in all gears. I don't think any of the other gears match between the two either.

I think the FD had a greater difference to that but until I find the spreadsheet I saw them pon I can't give a definate answer.

You will get almost the same for the D & TD but there is a definate difference between the gearboxes I removed & fitted on my STDT.

I'll also try to find the spreadsheet I found with all the ratio's on also but it might be the same one as Teknopug mentions.

Graham.

Spreadsheet attached, doesn't give a full breakdown of the TD gearbox ratio's though & the 5th gear / FD mix for the diesel gearbox gives the rpm /mph I had originally on my STDT but don't have now. :P

Yes got the same info.

Shows GRD (non turdo) as having almost the same box as TEKNOPUGs TD figures except for 3rd gear.

The other speedsheet that only shows the final drives as a fraction shows all bar 1 diesel model (turbo or not) as having the same FD.

Getting wierd now :)

Guess we'll have to see what TEKNOPUG comes up with.

Cheers
