Sunroof Washers?

Recommended Posts

jamesc

Sold my last 205 to a local girl and promised i'd sort out the leaking sunroof, thing is that was 12months ago and i've still not done it!

Usually get the washers from ebay but none around at the moment, any ideas as who will have some?

Cheers

If no washers about,spray roof area and bolt tops lightly with wd40, remove bolts and run a small bead of silicon around underside- refit and allow to cure. When cured a sharp blade around the bolt top should remove excess silicon,leaving a tight seal around the joint. Still watertight on mine after 3 years!

Super Josh

As above, or just fit fibre washers. My local dealer has a assorted box of them on the shelf. I took the screw in with me and matched a couple up. Got them gratis too, would have cost more to do the paper work.

10p tap washers from a plumber or DIY shop.

Trim round them once they are fitted with a nice sharp knife & problem sorted.

I was going to fit some washers and then both bolts sheared leaving the end of the bolt in the stud. So i now have an even leakier sunroof :blush:

I think Alan's car still has a seal I fashioned out of a sweet wrapper and put in place whilst we were driving through France at breakneck speeds this time last year.... certanly was still there and doing its job last time I looked :wacko:

Nope, finally got round to sorting it with B&Q finest rubber washers.

Certainly done its job for a while though, I was more impressed by Anthony's ability to change said washers on my sunroof whilst;

A: I was twatting the nuts off my Mi16.

B: It was pouring down with rain.

Bodge it or what :D

My local peugeot dealers always have the correct washers in stock and they only cost 15p each or something.
