1.9 Brake Problem?

Looking over my 1.9 last night and at the back of the rear calipers there is a piece of metal that joins two bolts together. One side is fine the other is snapped! this a problem? mot on sat and i'd like her to pass!

This shouldn't cause your car to fail afaik, if you want to be sure a visit to a scrapyard should find one. They are fitted to the front Bendix brakes on most other 205's.

I suppose it could be like a one piece washer for the two bolts if that makes any sense.

It's called a Stop plate on the parts CD.

I'm not really sure but it might be to help prevent the (minute) possibility that the caliper body pushing back over the sliders or something.

 

Big washers would do the same jpb though.
