NOsMAN 10 1 Cars Posted June 12, 2006 Just need to know about the the pipe that leads to the to of the rocker cover? Is that just a oil vapour hose or a source? reason im asking is that the pipe is knackered(got a new one coming wednesday) and i have a large oil spillage coming from the pipe and its run along the rocker cover and onto the exhaust manifold causing loads of smoke. But the is also the chance the rocker cover gasket might be knackered as well due to the amount of oil along the edges of it . Pug_101 0 Posted June 12, 2006 Pipe is part of the breather system.
SweetBadger 94 Posted June 12, 2006 If you're on about an 8v, you will get some oil going down the breather pipe - when my 1.9 was pressurising the crankcase due to a knackered ring the pipe popped off resulting in oil being sprayed all over the bonnet and exhaust manifold. Luckily caught it before it emptied the engine of oil, but it lost a fair bit of oil in a small amount of time!
