Yimkin_FJ 0 Posted June 11, 2006 I've recently fitted OMP grooved/drilled discs on the front of my 1.6 Sorrento Green, together with Ferodo standard pads (accidentally bought Girling pattern OMP pads, and can't return them. Problem is, since then (and only since then) the pad warning light on the dash comes on occasionally - no definitive pattern to it coming on, it just does occasionally - sometimes just stays on, sometimes on and off. If it is on, and you switch off then back on, no light). I'm pretty positive it isn't the brakes - we fitted them fine, and my dad restores race cars, so despite the fact I did it with him only watching we shouldn't have gone wrong! The car also just passed it's MoT (not that that says all that much, I know), so I'm guessing electrical. Any tips? BTW, the pad sensors went in fine, and were new. Incidentally, the slider bars on Bendix brakes - are they meant to have two spring clips (i.e. there are two holes on the bar) - mine only had one on each side, which seems pretty pointless - I'm guessing two got lost on a previous owners pad change? Cheers for advice! Chris

Cheers for advice! Chris Are you sure he fitted the wires and didn't just leave them off? Not many racers use them... Bendix should only have two spring clips, both on the inside of the caliper. There's two holes so you can use the them on either caliper.

Nope, I fitted them, he just gave advice where necessary. Thanks for the note about the clips tho! def the low warning light and not the handbrake light? check your break fluid level? Yep - definitely the low warning light, and brake fluid levels OK. Jim (previous post) might have it with the earth - it just might be 'one of those coincidences that make you sure you have done something wrong'! Stuff I race is way too old for things like warning lights let alone 'sensors' so it's all new to me!
