Where Can I Put Gearbox Oil In?

Hey guys,

 

I've just changed the driveshaft on my 1.6 GTi - and some oil came out. Now, I need to put more in. Where is the filler/breather hole?

Take the passenger wheel off and youll see a 19mm bolt on the side of the box, fill it until it just starts to come out of the hole.

i think the best place to put it in is through the breather on top of the 'box.

have a dig around the pipes and wires, it should be close the brown multiplug. iirc its a 21mm bolt with breather plug on top. take the the whole thing out and stick a funnel in there.

Its a lot easier to fill here with it not being on the side unless you have a bottle with a tube attached.

Just make sure you also undo the 19mm plug mention above to check the level.

I fill mine where the reverse cable go's in.
