Leaking Water

Recommended Posts

Guest Scottish Scooby

My Pugs leaking water when the engine is running. It doesn't seem to leak though when the engine is off.

Could this be the water pump? If so, how hard is it to replace one?

I've already put a whole bottle of Rad Seal in.

Can you see the leak from bottom of the cambelt area when the engine is running?

Where is it leaking from then, left or right handside of the engine?

Maybe a hose is splitting.

inspect while the car is running :)

Ive swopped a water hose this week only to find out it was the wrong one , so second time around i left the car running so it would piss it out and i could see where the leak was .Now i have managed to replace the annoying small water pipe underneath the distributor ..

Doesn't look like a pipe as its coming from somewhere in the engine bay. Possibly the water pump?

Can you be a little more specific.

You need to run the car whilst having a good look in the engine bay and from underneath the car, to pinpoint the problem. The water pump is under the cambelt cover. So if the leak is coming from the bottom of the cambelt cover, then that's the likely culprit.

The cambelt has to come off and its behind that.

Might it be the metal link pipe on the inner wing on that side thats leaking? (They do like to corrode).
