Recommended Posts

hi,

my axle has been on car for a month now afetr refurb, and i have noticed it clicks when i drive it sometimes!!! i has no play and its solid etc, but it sounds like my other beam when it was knackared before!!!!

i took the wheel off and the arm on both sides move up and down good, just when i push it to the limit of the bumpstop it clicks thats on both sides, so when its on the road, only sometimes but it clicks.

any ideas, why... jus worried thats all, could it be anything to do with axle bedding in??

thanks

dan

Check the shock absorber bolts. Mine were loose and made a clicking sound when going over bumps. I tightened one up and it went away. Now the other one is a bit loose.

How loud is this clicking sound and when does it actually happen? On smooth surfaces or bumpy surfaces or both?

I've got a seriously loud cracking noise in my car which is due to loose wheel bearings made even worse by the roll cage magnifying the sound ten fold......

Just my two pennies worth could be more than a coincidence if you have the same issue as me.

hi,

well it seems to do it both flat but mostly bumps not doing when im driving on motorway etc, just when i am bending roads, u can hear a clicking and also sometimes grinding noise comming from the back, so my be nuts need tightening.

when i took my wheel off when i pushed up the trailing arm to meet near the bumpstops, on both side its seems to click

thanks
