Current Rating Of Driving Lamp Wiring?

Recommended Posts

Simes

Does anyone know what the current rating of the driving lamp circuit is?

Reason for asking is I got swayed into purchasing a pair of 100w H3 lamps which will draw roughly 8A.

The standard lamps draw around 4A.

maybe it's worth checking which fuse they use and then adding 4A to that?

i mean, 15A if it's currently 10A.

btw, i replaced sidelights/dashboard fuse recently and it was 5A, not that it matters to you .

Good point, however wouldn't increasing the fuse sizeincrease the risk of my wiring getting hot and potentially causing a fire?

Measure the diameter of the wire and use this AWG to give you an idea of the maximum current carrying capacity.

Thanks, I wondered whether that was possible. :)
