I searched for this answer but couldn't find any info, please direct to me to a relevant post if anyone knows of one. I want a brief, or otherwise, tutorial on cam profiles; lift, duration, timing, etc, etc, what each means, their inter-relations and effect on engine performance. Any information gratefully received. Pete C 0 Posted June 5, 2006 Lift: how far the cam lobes open the valves Duration: how long the valves stay open for Timing: the point at which the valves open/close during the combustion/exhaust cycle. Generally more lift/duration will be better for top end power but will have an adverse effect on low down torque... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
