Danxs 0 Posted June 3, 2006 seems my car is having a spree of faults, first the heater blower, now the speedo packed up on me today, it was reading fine, it had a bit of a fit, then just died, does it sound like the cable? are they are hard job, i know 106's are damn hard! its a 309 gti, btw. Ahl 4 Posted June 3, 2006 Its not very hard, but its one of those jobs where when you've done it once its fairly easy to do it again, but fiddly the first time. You need to be careful taking the dash cowling apart as its dead easy to snap bits. Getting the speedo cable into the back of the speedometer is also a little fiddly, but its fine with perseverance. Danxs 0 Posted June 3, 2006 cool, great, thanks alot. i have my road angel for now as a speedo!
j_turnell 137 3 Cars Posted June 3, 2006 It could also be the speedo drive, the plastic cog is renowned for breaking so this may also be a possibility. Simple to do just a driveshaft out job.
