PsychoSimon 0 Posted June 1, 2006 (edited) Hi all. Which head would you guys use on a 2044cc bottom end? the 16v head that came originally with the 2.0 (from a 406) or my 1.9mi16 head? Just wondering if there are any differences between the heads (things like prts, compression ratios, and oil surge issues etc) Also would anybody like to guestimate the power it would make on a set of bike carbs? Regards, Simon EDIT: please bear in mind i plan on using standard cams too Edited June 1, 2006 by PsychoSimon
pug309twin40s 1 Posted June 2, 2006 you would have been better to use an s16, 405 2lt 16v engine rather then the 406 engine as the 406 engine is only 136bhp.
jochem 0 Posted June 2, 2006 I'd go for the 406 head, as it has a flatter, smoother torque curve. The 136bhp is mainly due to the mannifolds and management IMO.
petert 586 Posted June 2, 2006 I'd use the 1.9L Mi16 head. It's flow capabilities are well documented.
PsychoSimon 0 Posted June 2, 2006 i have been steering towards the Mi head personally as i like the characteristic power surge as it comes on cam. Was just wondering there were obvious reasons having never had an mi apart before. Think i will definately go with the mi16 head unless someone says otherwise with good reason. Cheers guys, Regards, Simon
