I thought the Quaife gearkit was helical? I've been wondering about getting one since the standard gearbox seems to be a weak link, but wanted a proper whiner...

 

Mine changes gear very very quickly and it sounds just like a proper whining mini gearbox. Can't remember which ratios I've got but first gear is very long but its ok with the Alcon paddle rigid clutch plate. Synchros haven't lasted very long. Stick with a rebuilt std XS box with a decent diff and clutch

I really wouldn't recommend an XS gearbox, one of the weakest MA boxes.

Stop fannying around and get a 106 cup box. TMS have got one for sale complete with ZF diff and shafts.
