You can buy the ball joints (which come with new clips) from RS. They are £2-3 each, although there is a minimum order of 4, so by the time you add VAT and postage it's probably just as cheap to buy new rods. :)

Which clip are you missing? If it's one of the bigger ones I think I've got a spare somewhere.

Ryan, I think it's the smaller one.

Dream Weaver, that's great, thanks.

I guess the problem lies with the box then(no sideways stick selection available)

Cheers

Mark,

I thought you'd have it up and running by now!! I do believe you will hold the record for the longest start to completion conversion time!!

I did have it running a while ago, but then didn't touch it again for several months. In fact, yesterday was the first time I looked at it this year:(.

Sheer laziness. I'm meant to be buying an e30 325 sport this week too(assuming he actually gets the mot done), so that'll keep me busy for the forseable future.

How's your Mi Simon?? I was pretty impressed when you took me for a drive in it..

Cheers

So the rods etc all look ok...

Getting some light down there, the gear selector(circled in this picture isn't moving. ie no left/right movement in gearstick..

Any ideas what could cause this??

Cheers.

did you have to change that selector rod that you've circled? Looks like it has been swapped at some point and the rod that goes into the box has been dropped into the box as this is what happened to me. It can be sorted but is a royal pain in the arse.

Yes, it's a 6 box so had to change to a 205 selector.(not my pic btw)...

I don't like royal pains in the arse:(

How did you resolve it??

Cheers.
