Replacing Shocks All Round..what Else?

Recommended Posts

Guest davidt83

Hi guys..

Im in the process of replacing the shocks on the 205.

While im at it..and the cars jacked with all wheels off, are there any other parts that you suggest to replace as routine maintenance? I have yet to stip to old shocks out but if there are parts that are certain to need replacing..i can order them in soon.

I searched the forum, but nothing came up answering this particular quesry,

Many thanks

Dave

Top mount bearings, might as well do them now whilst its all apart & if you just buy the bearings from GSF for a Nerlingo (I posted the number recently, try a search of my posts) you can also get some group N top mount rubbers if you wanted.

It might be a good time to do the anti roll bar bushes (less than £10) and possiblly the drop arms.

Just check for play in existing parts (drop links, bushes etc.) and like said could invest in some poly bushes for the wishbones and group N rubbers and new top mount bearings are well worth getting. Theyre not exactly expensive but will make the front feel alot better :)

ok, thanks for the advice.

Only question being im replacing the standard shocks with Gaz coilovers. So surely i do not need to replace the top mount bearing or get group n rubbers??

Looking on pugspares, ive found the following codes..are these definately right?

Anti roll bar bushe - 6134

Drop links - 6122

Poly bushes for wishbone - 490

Does anyone know where a dcent quality parts list and exploded views can be found? I have found http://stuartmcguire.co.uk/pug/, but the drawings arent too clear.

Thanks

When your looking at the parts cd, right click the pictures and save them somewhere. When you open them they are much clearer and you can zoom in and stuff. I only found this out recently after ages spent studying the pictures trying to work out what was what!
