What To Change While The Engine Is Out

Hi All.

 

I have taken my TT engine out to do a little bit of work on it, as the zort was blowing, and the was a bit engine noise.

 

I tought as it's out I better replace some of the parts wile I was at it.

 

Here's the list so far.

 

1x - 0816 67 - Timing Belt (113). - £32.00 - £32.00

8x - 6929 23 - Exhaust Manifold Stud. - £00.63 - £05.04

8x - 0341 22 - Nut With Base. - £00.55 - £04.40

4x - 0349 70 - Exhaust Manifold Gasket. - £02.11 - £08.44

1x - 0348 91 - Intake Manifold Gasket. - £??.?? - £??.??

1x - 0829 12 - Spring Cam Belt Tension Roller. - £??.?? - £??.??

1x - 1201 63 - Water Pump. - £??.?? - £??.??

1x - 1109 N2 - Oil Filter. - £??.?? - £??.??

 

Can you think of anything else worth replacing?

If your doing water pump + tensioner then a timing belt.

 

Has this engine done enough to justify the water pump and tensioner needing replacement?

 

You don't (or didn't) need to take the inlet manifold off.

 

What need done would have to be judged on the condition of the engine, but this engine has only recently (in terms of mileage) been completely re-built?

The cam belt Tension Roller has play in the bearings as was starting to make quite abit of noise.

Also the water pump seems quite stiff.

 

as for the inlet manifold I am changing it over to one that does not have the coil mouting on top, as I am now running wasted spark.

The engine was fully rebuilt by Mattcony not long before you bought it so it shouldn't need much.

 

Everything you've listed should be fine imo.
