Clutch Bottom Cover

Changing the cambelt on my 1.9 pug

 

Took the alternator belt and the cambelt cover off today and just waiting for this part to arrive

I need to take the bottom clutch cover off to gain acces to the flywheel

 

Has anyone done this and used this part before? Any help/guidance would be much appreciated as i'm a mechanincal novice who is reluctant to pay the garage fees (typically Scottish i know )

Most people use a big screwdriver and jam it in I think, but im sure that piece will be easy to use and work just fine.

 

You don't need to lock the flywheel in order to do the cambelt though, there are locking holes in/behind the camshaft and crankshaft sprockets

You do to hold it still with the belt removed & for undoing the crank pulley bolt & this holds it in place pefectly if you set the timing points up before undoing the bolt.

 

I've replied to the other topic about fitting this also.
