Recommended Posts

inferno

something is just not right. all the mounts are on and im left with the stright pipe from the turbo boost side firmly wedged on the servo.

also there is no room for the additional pipe from the elbow on the intake side, and no room for the metel water pipe that bolts to the cam belt cover in the following pic

and then finally (for now) the gear linkage fouls the turbo!

Have you tilted the engine?

Thats what you have to do in 205's so probably the same in 309's as well

rob, i dummy tilted it on fitting, and it was still wedged. i think im going to check out the 1.6 servo set up tomorow though and see what i can do with it unless keiran comes n picks up the wheels n beam tomorow in which case ill probly end up battering sumone with the driveshafts and scrapping the rest!:)

Don't some of the lower-spec models use a smaller diameter servo? If so it might give you a few mm extra clearance.

Where does the metal pipe lead? If it's into the rear of the thermostat housing then what about removing it and blocking the outlets up, as many people do when doing mi16 swaps.

Exactly! - You paid £300 for the whole car - you were either lucky or it needs pretty much everything replacing. Another £300 for a proper manifold is not a lot if you got the whole car for peanuts....

you have to tilt the engine, you have to do it on all rhd turbo conversions using that turbo/manifold because as you've found the turbo and servo get rather intimate.

solved this issue by swapping the brake servo for one from a 205! engine fits snug
