23mm Tb With Koni Non Coil Overs

Recommended Posts

driversdomainuk

Hi

I am considering getting 23mm TBs for my hillclimbing 205. Upon searching this forum, I have come across a number of posts who rightly say if you go for thicker TBs on the rear, you need to go for a stiffer front spring (lb).

I have koni adjustables (non coil overs) what should I do about getting stiffer springs as they are new and dont fancy having to replace them...

thanks

Not too sure what you want to hear as you've already answered your question really.

If you don't want to change the front springs, don't get thicker torsion bars, simple.

You could get a thicker anti roll bar instead though as this will ehance handling and not effect the balance too much. Don't go too thick though for the given torsion bar diameter.

To get known poundage on the std size springs you will need to get them custom wound. This is not as expensive as you would think. I was quoted about £60 delivered. You can then get the free length, spring rate that you want to match up with rear and also desired ride height.

But as Wurzel said , how are you going to change the front rate without changing the springs on any suspension setup? Even the "best" coilovers need the spring rates changing.

This lot should be able to help you out.

Coilsprings

There is another company in Sheffield as well with a similar name but it escapes me at the moment. Get a copy of Motorsport News, there are usually some adverts in the classified section at the back.

that coilsprings site sounds like a right chav operation personally!

Forget all the cheap imported rubbish clogging up all the pages of Maxpower etc.

* If your Beemer 3 - Series has 500 kg of ice in the back and you still want a 60mm chop - We is the Main Man!

* If your Nova is too soft and too high for your Babe - We can make her go down for a harder ride !!!

* If your Astra rolls like a jelly when your doing donuts in Tescos car park - steal a mobile and phone us first

that's actually on their website - I know it might be tongue in cheek but come on!!

Anyway I think it was this lot who gave me a good quote
