Intermediate Bearing And Bolts

one of the bolts was bent and ive been having a hell off a battle trying to get the bearing out so it gonna need to be replaced aswell (ive mashed the poor thing)

 

anyone know where to get new ones? are they pug dealers only?

A new one was about £16 from Pug when I bought one about 3 months ago.

 

IIRC it was an SKF bearing I got, so if you want to try a few bearing suppliers (probably a LOT cheaper) I'll check the part number.

I think Dave just means the horseshoe bolt, if he does its probably easier to get one from Pug.

 

Bearing should be available from any bearings stockists if you have the number for it.

Bolts are easily available - cost a few bucks from pug. I had that problem when i cut mine after rounding the nut...

i went int o the pug garage today and after 20 mins of explaining to them and showing them pictures they didnt have a clue what i was on about.

 

ive ordered a bearing from skf but still need the bolts

 

anyone know anywhere else to get them?

oh yeah and the bearing from skf was about £6 or £7 :wacko:

Most pug dealers are useless unless you do half their job for them. Try giving them the part number (3252 04) and see if it helps.

i thought the bearing was part of the shaft... how does it come off?!

The bearing slips over the shaft, and then a metal collar holds it in place. The collar is REALLY tight though - I needed a hydraulic press to get it off.

 

Do new driveshafts come with a bearing fitted then?

well i dont remember fitting a new bearing to the 306 ive done and a 205 i did a while ago...:S

Yes, at least I've never bought one without an intermediate bearing.
