DaveK 0 Posted May 26, 2006 (edited) one of the bolts was bent and ive been having a hell off a battle trying to get the bearing out so it gonna need to be replaced aswell (ive mashed the poor thing) anyone know where to get new ones? are they pug dealers only? cheers dave Edited May 26, 2006 by DaveK
Ryan 99 Posted May 26, 2006 A new one was about £16 from Pug when I bought one about 3 months ago. IIRC it was an SKF bearing I got, so if you want to try a few bearing suppliers (probably a LOT cheaper) I'll check the part number.
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted May 27, 2006 I think Dave just means the horseshoe bolt, if he does its probably easier to get one from Pug. Bearing should be available from any bearings stockists if you have the number for it. Graham.
gti_al 1 Posted May 27, 2006 Bolts are easily available - cost a few bucks from pug. I had that problem when i cut mine after rounding the nut...
DaveK 0 Posted May 30, 2006 i went int o the pug garage today and after 20 mins of explaining to them and showing them pictures they didnt have a clue what i was on about. ive ordered a bearing from skf but still need the bolts anyone know anywhere else to get them? cheers dave oh yeah and the bearing from skf was about £6 or £
Ryan 99 Posted May 30, 2006 Most pug dealers are useless unless you do half their job for them. Try giving them the part number (3252 04) and see if it helps.
DaveK 0 Posted May 30, 2006 ah nice one thanks ryan
inferno 1 Posted May 30, 2006 i thought the bearing was part of the shaft... how does it come off?!
Ryan 99 Posted May 30, 2006 The bearing slips over the shaft, and then a metal collar holds it in place. The collar is REALLY tight though - I needed a hydraulic press to get it off. Do new driveshafts come with a bearing fitted then?
inferno 1 Posted May 30, 2006 well i dont remember fitting a new bearing to the 306 ive done and a 205 i did a while ago...:S
