Locating An Oil Leak - Common Places?

Afternoon,

 

I've recently bought a tatty 1.6 GTi for a little project - however it leaks quite a lot of oil.

 

Are there any common places where the engines leak? Its mostly apparent around the front of the block (headlight end)

Sump gasket, camshaft oil seal, crankshaft oil seal, distributor oil seal or any one of the hoses perished?
