Can Anyone Help? I Need A Map For An Mi Running Cossie Injectors

Recommended Posts

maxi

The mi is finally back together and is being mapped on Tuesday. I require a base map to get it running but unfortunately the one OMEX have sent me is for a std mi running std mi injectors. Im running cossie yellows and have been told the MSPB will be completely wrong. Anyone got a map for an mi running these injectors??

Cheers

Maxi

As a starting point Adam, couldn't you find the flowrate of your injectors, the flowrate of an Mi injector and then scale the map?

So, you reduce the opening time of the injector, or however it is altered in the map, by dividing each value in the map by how much bigger the Cossie injector is? So, if it flows twice as much, divide every point by 2...

Or, since you are running quite a high spec, divide by 10% less so you have some extra fuel... So, if the injector is twice the size, divide everywhere by 1.8...

It *ought* to get you running!!

Long time no speak mate, must try and catch up soon... I've got an engine!

Edit: Can you export the values into Excel, do the maths then paste the new values back in, or do they need to be inputted individually? Or is there even just a scaling factor in the software that will do it automatically?

Like Dom said if there is a scaling feature for the MSPB like there is on the Emerald just adjust that down. This is what I did on my TT. Sure that will be good enough for a base map.

yeah look up the codes up on the list in my sig, hopefully they are in the list. The list is not always right BTW, because it doesnt list pressure with the flow rate..bum! Most are 2.5 or 3 bar

Maxi,

I tried to find a flow rate for the Yellow Cossie injectors but could only find them as: 2wd Cosworth standard (yellow, Weber-Marelli IW-025), and that doesn't appear in any of my injector flow rate info.

Not sure if they are really Weber injectors? I always thought they were Bosch?

Did you put ballast resistors on? Cossie injectors need them on an Omex AFAIK.

If you phone Omex once you know the flow rate they will be able to guide you through changing the map.

Run the car on Mi16 injectors until you get to the rolling road...Limit your rpm so you don't suffer with a lean mixture at high revs.

I ran my own Mi16 on Mi injectcors whilst running in until it was fully mapped @ Emerald.
