Manifold Angling Plate

Recommended Posts

DaveK

Im going to make one of these at the weekend hopefully but need to know how much the manifold end needs tilted downwards so i know what angle to make the plate. Any1 know as it would save me the time of putting the engine in and make it alot easier to fit the plate.

cheers

Dave

Dave, from what I've read in the past when people have cut and reangled the manifold itself, usually 3mm is taken from the bottom edge and truncated to zero at the top (which I'm planning to do). So you're not talking about a lot. Hopefully that should give you something to work from. :D

Cheers. Paul.

That's only 2.3 degrees. Nowhere near enough. If you're good enough to make one you deserve to know - 6 degrees. I originally made them at 5, but you can still have issues at the bulkhead. If you're really on the pace you'll mill 3 degrees from each side. Don't forget to make 6 deg. tapered washers to suit.

yea the plan is to mill the exhaust proflie on the cnc miller then make angled washers and slightly widen the holes on the manifold to keep the bolts all straight

thanks for the help guys
