Urgent Help With Xu Block Advice

Recommended Posts

Richie-Van-GTi

Need to knopw urgently if a gti head will fit on a 2.0 8v block. My bottom end is totally goosed and can get hold of a 2.0 block quite easily but need to know if it fits. If not anyone got a spare decent bottom end going cheap in the north east area.

I expect the compression ratio will be too high with XU9 head and XU10 block, given the amount of material you need to skim off a XU10 head when fitting to an XU9 block to bring the compression upto sensible levels.

Of course, you could just use the complete XU10 8v lump (head and block) and just use XU9 inlet manifold, cam and thermostat housing...
