Wurzel 16 Posted May 24, 2006 (edited) A mate has asked me to look at the clutch on his 306 Diesel (non turbo I think). Basically when pressing the clutch pedal, it's not allowing the gearbox to disengage fully. Ramming it into first stalls the car so it's obviously gripping fairly tightly. Now this seems to be a fairly straightfoward loose cable affair. I had a very quick look at work, in between sorting out my other rotary enemies, and the clutch cable was v loose. I could pull the whole thing out from the clutch lever by hand with no effort. Unlike the 205 versions, there is no nut on a thread to take up the slack so, we wedged a couple of open jaw spanners in there to see if this did the job. Unfortunately, it made no difference So, before I go rummaging around in the rain, how do you adjust the 306 clutch cable and does anyone have any ideas what could cause this. My worse case scenario is to take the gearbox off and check out the release bearing. This isn't making any undue noise though when some pressure is taken off the clutch plate. I'm thinking that it may be fitted incorrectly. So, any pointers before I don the dewliner and get mucky Edited May 24, 2006 by Wurzel
