Hi, does anyone know where i could get some stands that holds a bare shell up for working on, you see them in body work places quite a bit. what are they called or is it fairly easy to build one? thanks

There called SPITS like what you see the chickens in Morrisons spinning round on.

www.frost.co.uk sell them (not cheap)

or you can make your own, i'm making one at the moment, but its just to put the car on its side, what i've done is welded a 'T' piece to a spare subframe for the front, an 'n' shaped piece of metal for the seatbelt mounting point and a sort of metal tripod to place the rear part of the chassis on.

Its hard to explain....

BlackMi16 has piccys of his on its side using a similar method but using only the seatbelt mounting point, with leaving the wheels in situ.

I did some modifications to it later, so I didn't have to have the wheels there.

The jack is not doing anything, not sure why it's there in the pic

At the rear I just bolted the bar to the rear beam mounts (where the rubbers usually sit) a little bit dodgy, but worked ok because the car ain't heavy at the back.
