laser green 1.9 0 1 Cars Posted May 22, 2006 I've got at wet carpet, but only on the passenger side foot well. I don't think it's coming from the sunroof as I can't see any drips or wet patches. All the drain point are working on the sunroof. Any one had a similar problems, I guess I'll have to remove the carpet and have a good look around.

Rob_the_Sparky 9 Posted May 22, 2006 Try rear quater windows
hengti 2 Posted May 22, 2006 mine does this too i think it's coming in from the blanking plates in the floor - those round things which're held in with little tabs. the floor on mine has been damaged by various eejits jacking it up in the wrong place; this bends the floor and dislodges these discs so that they no longer seal - worth a look
laser green 1.9 0 1 Cars Posted May 22, 2006 (edited) The water is coming in from the window seals as you guys said. I took some of the plastic trim off and you can just see it running in. Because I'm a tight yorkshire man I'm going to warm up the seals and see if I can stretch them back into shape. I've had them on my hot water tank for a couple of hours and they have already streched a little bit. Has any body else tried warming them up and streching them, I guess the worry is that when they get cold the will shink again, but it's worth a go. richsmells 2 Posted May 23, 2006 I got in the car on sunday when it was raining and noticed it running from the drivers side rear quarter. Seals are a bit pricey but i've got no option really. It still doesn't explain why the boot underlay is completely waterlogged, i couldn't see it running from anywhere whilst i was camped out in the boot in the rain for a good 20 mins. Rob_the_Sparky 9 Posted May 23, 2006 I just re-positioned mine in the hole. They were significantly too small for the hole and some careful movement of the seal stopped the leak. May start again if disturbed but given that I never use the rear windows there isn't much chance of that. Rob
laser green 1.9 0 1 Cars Posted May 23, 2006 (edited) Heres the results of my warming up and streching the window seals, so far so good. The passenger side I left to warm up on the hot water tank over night then gave it a stretch. The photos are of the driver side seal, I put it in a bucket of hot water for a couple of minutes then gave it a stretch. You can hear a little cracking sound as you gently stretch the rubber as you work around the seal. Before and after. Simes 248 2 Cars Posted May 23, 2006 The only way to fix this is to buy new ones. No matter how much you try stretching or moving it will always leak again.
