Reverse Light Switch In Gear Stick Gaiter?!?!

Hi, guys, I pick up my new Pug on Saturday and have been told that the only thing wrong with it is that the reversing light doesn't come on. I spoke to the guy and he reckons that the switch that makes when reverse is selected is corroded.Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for it and is it easy enough to get to/remove?

you dont need a reverse light do you? mine doesnt work :/

It's MOT is due soon and i thought it needed to work for that.

 

I'm not bothered, i'm only interested in going forwards....fast! (and sometimes a bit sideways!)

its not part of the test.

 

the switch is on top of the gearbox, its not hard to find.
