allanallen 528 2 Cars Posted May 20, 2006 hi guys, i'm in the process of making an inlet manifold for my mi to fit a set of r1 carbs. i'm spacing the carbs to match the inlet ports on the block. does anyone know the inlet spacing between each port, i have measured them myself but as the ports arent exactly round its difficult to measure them accuratly so i'd have to guesstemate them. Any help much appreciated. cheers
miamistu 1 Posted May 20, 2006 (edited) They're 93mm I think. You can check this by measuring the smallest distance between two ports, then adding the diameter of one port (40mm) Edited May 20, 2006 by miamistu
Rik 0 Posted May 21, 2006 I'm interested in how you are fitting the carbs allen? are you making a whole new manifold or just modifying the original? Rik
allanallen 528 2 Cars Posted May 22, 2006 cheers miamistu, i had another measure last night and decided on 93mm, all the inlet ports seem to measure 40.7 though. i'm not to worried about that though. Rik, i,m makin a manifold from scratch because i haven't got an original to modify. it should be very similar to the boggbros manifold, but without those evil bends. i've just gotta finish the spacers for the carbs and check they dont leak everywhere before i start the mani. al
