SimonJ 2 Posted May 19, 2006 Planning to remove the heater and fan to save weight (11kg allegedly). Is the plumbing a simple matter of running a pipe between where the water comes out of the engine and where it goes back in? I know it sounds obvious but you just never know with these things. Also I did a search as I'm sure I remember some interesting posts on this subject (including a diagram) from when I searched some months ago but can't find them now. pug_ham 245 3 Cars Posted May 19, 2006 If you aren't bothered about having any interior heating at all you can join them in the engine bay rather than in the inside of the car. I have a spare small piece of stainless pipe I used to do exactly this when my heater matrix was leaking & I'd driven to Donington only to discover it when I got there. SimonJ 2 Posted May 22, 2006 I'm going to PM Graham about his pipe I think, however, this is the sort of thing I was interested in. Blocking off the pipes at the SAD and the other one on the block certainly stops water going to the heater but does it not interrupt a flow of water that is a required part of the circuit. Rob_the_Sparky 10 Posted May 22, 2006 If you need to keep the flow then a cheap way of connecting that size pipe is domestic copper pipe and a couple of J clips. Rob P.S.
