Coolant Hoses

Recommended Posts

Whats the best way to block off coolant hoses that are no longer needed, like the ones for the oil cooler because I'm not using one. I'd prefer not to be just bending hoses if I could.

Cheers,

Ken.

I've done the same, large bolt in the end with a really tight jubelee clip around it.

If its something that has a male piece that the tube comes from (most places i would guess). Use a rubber blanking plug.

For pipes of about 1" diameter try using the blanking plug from a 1995 xrdt which goes onto the water jacket on the back of the block. They are only 1.80 odd each. Pug part number : 0245.16 i thinks.

Its item no 10 anyway on the diagram for cooling system on the pug screen.

Hope this helps and is neater than the bolt in the tube thing.

Copper piping from down your local DIY store is good for this too.

Or for the example stated you could just get a top hose without the oil cooler pipes. Should be loads hanging around 2nd hand and don't think they cost much new.
