Fitting Brakes From A 306 Xsi?

Recommended Posts

ashley peddle

im looking to upgrade to some 306 xsi calipers at the weekend. Anthony (the person im buying them off :D) thinks that its a straight swap but isnt 100% sure.

the 306 was 1995 with abs to take 266mm discs if that helps :)

any ideas?

ta :P

Should be a straight swap onto 1.9 or base model hubs.

Should be a straight swap, the fit the base model hubs on a straight swap basis according to this archive topic.

Yes, base models are all that aren't GTi, including diesels.

having looked at the brake setup on my xsi and then looking at the gti and having worked on both of them i am pretty damn sure that they are identical and should be straight swaps :(

Woo - have just ordered the disks - went for brembo's...

can anyone suggest a decent make of pad for these? (preferably one that i can buy in the shops?)

Halfords do Ferrado (so?) pads - are they any good?

Ferodo do great pads, but they'll all be fairly similar if your going for OE spec.
