Water Pipe Required

Recommended Posts

Natasha

A water pipe has just blown on my 205 mi16 and Peugeot say its no longer available! :)

The pipe I desperately need to get hold of is the pipe that goes from the back of the thermostat housing (behind power steering pump), turns a corner and joins the pipe that runs across the back of the head.

Anybody got any bright ideas of where I can get hold of this one?

Thanks in advance.

Neat Autos (www.parts4peugeot.com, might be .co.uk) can sometimes be good at getting hard to find parts.

I had to buy one of these a couple of months ago. The parts guy told me it was the last one left. I had to wait ages too.

What about making one by cutting the angles from other hoses and joining them together, or 2 samco elbows?

Take it off completely & plumb the engine in as if it was an 8v.

Or try Citroen, they'll probably want a chassis number though.;)

Citreon get their parts orders from Tile Hill aswell as Peugeot, because I tried as the part number was the same and yes it's now no longer available.

SeanT got hold of one from www.peugeotparts.co.uk I think, but best ask him to be sure.

Ditch it as there's the other 2 pipes which are getting hard to buy as well, Makes the engine bay look neater as well. But I;ve got a few of these if needed

Where's it split? Right next to the jubilee clip? Mine did that and I just cut the bad bit off and stuck it back on. That was yonks ago and it's been ok ever since.

Whats the best way to plumb these then. Any diagrams?

Generally I think Peugeot cooling and breather systems are mad & messy

Thanks

If i'm right, its the metal pipe that runs behind the head you are talking about which the rubber elbows feed.

All this is is a bypass for the heater matrix, and can be removed quite easily. You can either get to blanking rubbers and swop over with the pipe connections or AFAIK blank off the stat end with a blanking plug and use 8v distribution pipe on the block. The 8v has 2 outlets compared to the 3 on the Mi16.

The pipe really hacked me off when I was having problems with my old manifold. It seriously reduces access!
