Guest lombardo Posted May 16, 2006 (edited) Hi, My car idle's at 2,000 rpm. On pushing the throttle pedal down it goes to 3,500 revs then a blip of the throttle then it goes down to 2,500-2,000. What is the cause of this, im am baffled. Everything looks ok underneath the hood? Would a fast idle also cause a high temp? j_turnell 137 3 Cars Posted May 16, 2006 Sounds like an air leak, check for a split pipe or loose clip etc. Missing oil filler cap bolt is a favourite. A search may also help....
jonD6B 0 Posted May 17, 2006 A high idle won't cause an excessively high temp although it will get upto temp. quicker whilst stationary.
