Refiting Electric Window Motor And Runners

Recommended Posts

GTI_Lee

hi basically my motor broke, would only go down, so my dad decided to take the lot out and wedge the window open, well i think i have sorted it now as i have got a new set of switches.

but i am unsure of how to do it lol. any guides or is it straight forward.

i havent had a good look yet but i can see myself making a muddle of it tho.

thanks lee

Just done this on mine, its a bit of a pain. I find the easiest way is to drop the window down into the door, put the mechanism back inside the door and do up all the nuts apart from the torx screw near the speaker. I don't put the small runner in till last. The mechanism wheels need to be slid into the window at the same time, once you've done this fit the small runner onto the door and slide the last wheel into it. Make sure the window sits correctly in the upright thingy by the speaker hole, once its sat correctly do the torx screw up. Hope that makes sense!!

Tape the window in the upright position, feed the motor in and locate the top rollers in to the two runners at the top of the door. Next locate the bottom roller into its runner and secure it position. Then the motor will just pop into place. Undo the tape and allow the windon to rest on the top runners again and hey presto...

One thing to remember is the location of theplug for the power, and which way it fits in.
