Guest Armin205 Posted May 15, 2006 (edited) Hello guys, today i recived my little package from summitracing, the nos system in my car is now installed but i haven´t got the guts to try it out the setup is a 0,030" and 0,022" and should deliver about 50hp will this damage my engine? will the gti fuelpump ba able to deliver the extra ammount of fuel needed for this setup? jackherer 543 Posted May 15, 2006 I've been in a 205 Mi16 with a 100bhp shot on the standard fuel pump which ran well (very well actuallly...) so you'll be fine. I believe 125bhp was too much though and blew it up.
Guest Armin205 Posted May 15, 2006 hehe.. well i´ll give it a go this afternoon, and i will report here : )
bedders 0 Posted May 15, 2006 I used to have it on my MI16, 50 hp was fine.
Guest Armin205 Posted May 15, 2006 did the clutch manage the extra power output?
C_W 3 1 Cars Posted May 15, 2006 I ran "50bhp" jets and was fine too. Clutch is fine as the car is quite light.
Guest Armin205 Posted May 15, 2006 and the result was baad.. feels more like 10hp then
Guest SeanT Posted May 15, 2006 Damn I was really thinking about this on my Mi, but if the results are that bad, is this most peoples opinions of the NOS?? Sean and the result was baad.. feels more like 10hp then
Martin@PRD 0 Posted May 15, 2006 and the result was baad.. feels more like 10hp then 50 Is it direct port or single and who is it made by?
Guest Armin205 Posted May 15, 2006 (edited) It´s a wet system[NOS] is the brand, the jets were for 50hp in the charts at holley.com but it felt more like a small vtec kick then nos brutality. But i think that it was the wrong setup, the mixture seems to have been way to rich. Edited May 15, 2006 by Armin205
Bally 4 Posted May 16, 2006 that is exactly what happened when I first installed mine, you are way too rich. At the fuel pressure the gti runs you want a 0.016 fuel jet to go with the .030 nos jet. You are drowning the engine with fuel. Trust me, put in the right jet and that car will fly. Guest Armin205 Posted May 16, 2006 (edited) bally: thanks! my next little project is to buy and mount new hoses because the ones i have on today are made for funnel-jets, and nobody sells those jets in sweden, i want the standard flare jets. Guest Armin205 Posted May 17, 2006 new hoses for the nozzel.
Guest Armin205 Posted May 18, 2006 does anyone know what ammount of fuel is delivered without a fuel jet?
Adam B 0 Posted May 18, 2006 If you've chucked a lot of fuel in the engine might be worth changing the oil. If you've got fuel in the oil the bearings will be buggered in no time.. Good luck with the nitrous!
Guest Armin205 Posted May 18, 2006 the recepy for today was .34 and .20fuel, the result was a 205 flying of and traces of my tires from 1st to third gear only trouble was the preassure in the bottle. It was low, but i have a bottle warmer now noos rocks!
Green Machine 3 Posted May 18, 2006 usually the ratio on standard injection i use is half the jet size for the fuel than the nos, on carbs the jet sizes are equal.
Guest Armin205 Posted May 18, 2006 i´m going to install the .18 jet for the fuel.. its a little bit rich still.
