Car Wont Restart When Engine Is Hot

Recommended Posts

Guest 205CTI-il

as it says, its a 1.9 engine , when i turn the car off and engine is hot there is a problem with restart the car.

if u lets the starter motor works it will start after 15 seconds..its like the engine is flooding (or one of the injectors floods the engine..)

any ideas why?

(all injectors where clean at bosch factory and where refixxed with service kit)

thx

i've had the same problem on my old 1.6 and it was, as you said, leaking injector(s).

maybe it actually has something to do with them being recently refurbished?

I'm trying to fix the same problem at the moment, reconditioned injectors made no difference so I suspect the fuel pump now and I've got a brand new one I'm going to try.

Ignition amplifier mate, try changing that first.

Ignore me...

Didn't read the second sentence of your question until after I'd posted this!

Cheers...

As odd as it sounds you may want to try an ignition amp as I've had starting problems that are related to it. Tis a long shot but if you have a spare lying around it would be worth a try.

Great Minds think a like, I wouldn't have thought that 15seconds would be long enough for the engine bay to cool, I think he's right by going down the flooding line of investigation...
