vern 0 Posted May 14, 2006 On my cti the CL would only unlock the boot, I had to unlock it with the key. Thinking it was a problem, begain investigated thinking it was a duff unit in the boot, got the multimeter out, followed wires back into passenger side rear quarter, and found a diode (like a one way switch) pluged into wire, removed this and reconnected plugs and hey presto locking now working correctly. Anyone else have the same problem, or is it just on the CTI. Vern
Paintguy 0 Posted May 14, 2006 (edited) If you do a search, I think you'll find it's a feature of the CTi that the boot will only lock, but not unlock, on the central locking. It keeps the boot area locked (and thus secure) even if you leave the top down, and someone reaches in and unlocks the doors. So really you didn't have a problem as such, as they were designed to do it Edited May 14, 2006 by Paintguy
vern 0 Posted May 14, 2006 (edited) I thought it was something like it being a feature of a cti just not sure, but thought I would post up how you can remove the feature if you want to. paintguy your links do not seem to be working or is it just me. vern Edited May 14, 2006 by vern
Hilgie 16 2 Cars Posted May 15, 2006 It can be disabled by removing the diode in the cable behind the passengers rear light cluster.
