deejay391 0 Posted May 13, 2006 Hi guys Dont post much on here as i mainly use this site as a pug information nerve cell, so thought this a last chance place to ask questions. I own a 306 s16 and im having major troubles with it (yes puglife its not solved yet ). Basically its a problem with the inlet manifold... as far as im aware my problems stem from the vaccuum piping between the diaphrams, solenoid, inlet manifold & vaccuum pump.... When i bought the car there wasn't a complete link between all of the above and knowing nothing about the set-up i bought some silicone pipe and tried a few combinations, everything has failed & now its failed MOT 3 times due to emmissions.. Ive replaced the CAT, lambda sensor & moved a few pipes around but it is still overfuelling like a rocket now as the fueling is controlled by the ECU its not just a quick fix im pretty sure the fueling issue is down to the problems with the vaccuum piping, (the only other thing it could be is MAP sensor but this isn't coming up as a ECU fault ) A little bit of background: Diaphrams are working fine ECU reader is saying Solenoid Intake Switch is working (presume this is solenoid??) The car when first bought had a huge (and it was huge down to almost zero on graph) flat spot in torque approx 3k to 4k now better than before but still there and noticable (2 x dyno graphs @ same company, one with old roller one with new rollers) The piping is connected up as: Diaphrams to front of solenoid, front top of solenoid to brake servo 4 way connector, ECU to MAP sensor to Front right of inlet manifold, front of inlet manifold to brake servo 4 way, front left of inlet manifold to fuel pressure regulator. after speaking to puglife we figured that the pipes should run as follows: Diaphrams to front top of solenoid, front of solenoid to brake servo 4 way connector, ecu to MAP sensor to front of inlet, front left of inlet to FPR unfortunately the car ran badly after setting it up way me and puglife thought it went but runs very nice as it is currently set-up. Engine - blue pipes vaccuum piping Solenoid - to right as look at engine bay, beside the block - rear pipe is no longer there Brake servo 4 way connector Puglife was going to take a look at the car @ FCS but without a MOT the car wont be getting there Now my questions are: Does anyone have any ideas as to problems above Can anyone tell me exactly how the vaccuum piping is set-up (what runs to what) Is there another issue i have yet to check that could result in the car overfuelling The car has been off the road for over 5 weeks now while we try (part time) to resolve the problems amongst other things but i really need the car back now if anyone can help that would be great. inferno 1 Posted May 13, 2006 does it over fuel so bad it cuts out occasionally? is there a loud hishing from the filler cap when u open it? i had an xsi come into work overfuelling and cutting out randomly. turned out to be an imploaded petrol tank... just an idea Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Miles 331 1 Cars Posted May 13, 2006 The emmissions shouldn;t be effected by the inlet, But even if it did you can open and close the variable flaps yourself with some glue to stop them moving. Mine is all disconnected all it runs fine without overfueling so it might be worth changing the Water temp sender. But get a GTi6 inlet on there and get rid of all that plastic junk which I will be doing soon too Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
