Po po alert for picy size. No offence but your car looks gash, its not an m3, the brows look w*nk, the grill wouldn’t look quite so bad if it fitted properly and didn’t look like it was made by a monkey, all your missing is some nice neon’s to finished her off. Infact that looks like a nice green nova next to it in the pics..

I thought the idea of modifying your car was to be individual? So why buy a load of tat out of a magazine so you can look like everyone else?!?

Comments are a bit harsh on here and not the way to welcome a newcomer!

Chris, your car has the age related mods on it, which can date a car. The St Tropez front valance is viewed as an acceptable mod on here by many. I like the smoothed bumpers but they won't work with the standard GTI arches like they do with the Rallye arches.

If you are putting GTI kit on and getting everything repainted as I assume a full respray is in order with the Rallye arches coming off, I would try and return it to standard as it will have more value that way. Modded cars are peoples personal tastes and the money that is spend often devalues a car as it is less saleable.

Pop the bits you take off on ebay as you will get some cash back for them. Gutmann style grilles traditionally bend in the middle too. The original Gutmann ones don't, but they are not fibreglass copies.

Hope this helps

got to agree with the other Henry's comments ! - always personal choice

of the two, the 'current' piccie looks much smoother to me than the alternative - nice R5 look to it

rooster - you're doing the right thing fixing the cheesy grin on yours though! :P

cheers guys, yeah i had thought that it was looking a bit dated now..

Henry : yes its all going to come off and back to black bumpers and inserts (spent a small fortune in the last 2 weeks getting all the standard arches bumpers badges etc )., the only thing i couldnt decide on was whether to go 100% standard (red trims and standard lower valence) or the chrome trims and still keep just my st tropez lower valence (but everythingelse standard, hence the first pic of the car in the mag from 5 years ago :P )

Oh and bits are in ebay now if anyones interested :)

so instead he has to have his car standard to fit in here instead, tell me how is that different?

IMO the other style quad lights and a san tropez look great, maybe a 3 bar grill to finish it off. at the end of the day its YOUR car, YOU have to drive it, make it look like YOU want.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder and there are always going to be nay sayers, as long as you are happy with it thats all that matters!

This is My Front End ;)

Similar to the magazine one but with the full quad lights (which i think look alot better).

As said - do what you what, but i'd only do mods which you can reverse easily! (i regret getting that awful boot done now).

Cheers

Ric :D

The 205 was designed by Pininfarina, who are responsible for some of the best loking cars in automotive history, including a number of Alfa Romeos, Ferrari F40 and even the legendary Ferrari 250. I think it's fair to say that the way they (not Peugeot :D) intended the 205 to look is the best way.

No it wasn't. Who did you hear that from? Jeremy Clarkson?

Check 1983. If I'm not mistaken pininfarina designed a few peugeots, aside from the 205, and also partly assembled the 205 cabriolet.
